What is the rhyme scheme of this poem?

green and silent spot, amid the hills,
A small and silent dell! O'er stiller place
No singing skylark ever poised himself.
The hills are heathy, save that swelling slope,
Which hath a gay and gorgeous covering on,
All golden with the never-bloomless furze,
Which now blooms most profusely: but the dell,
Bathed by the mist, is fresh and delicate
As vernal cornfield, or the unripe flax,
When, through its half-transparent stalks, at eve,
The level sunshine glimmers with green light.
Oh! 'tis a quiet spirit-healing nook!
Which all, methinks, would love; but chiefly he,
The humble man, who, in his youthful years,
Knew just so much of folly as had made

His early manhood more securely wise!
Here he might lie on fern or withered heath,
While from the singing lark (that sings unseen
The minstrelsy that solitude loves best),
And from the sun, and from the breezy air,
Sweet influences trembled o'er his frame;
And he, with many feelings, many thoughts,
Made up a meditative joy, and found
Religious meanings in the forms of Nature!
And so, his senses gradually wrapped
In a half sleep, he dreams of better worlds,
And dreaming hears thee still, O singing lark,
That singest like an angel in the clouds!

My God! it is a melancholy thing
For such a man, who would full fain preserve
His soul in calmness, yet perforce must feel
For all his human brethren -O my God!
It weighs upon the heart, that he must think
What uproar and what strife may now be stirring
This way or that way o'er these silent hills -
Invasion, and the thunder and the shout,
And all the crash of onset; fear and rage,
And undetermined conflict -even now,
Even now, perchance, and in his native isle:
Carnage and groans beneath this blessed sun!
We have offended, Oh! my countrymen!
We have offended very grievously,
And been most tyrannous. From east to west
A groan of accusation pierces Heaven!
The wretched plead against us; multitudes
Countless and vehement, the sons of God,
Our brethren! Like a cloud that travels on,
Steamed up from Cairo's swamps of pestilence,
Even so, my countrymen! have we gone forth
And borne to distant tribes slavery and pangs,
And, deadlier far, our vices, whose deep taint
With slow perdition murders the whole man,
His body and his soul! Meanwhile, at home,
All individual dignity and power
Engulfed in Courts, Committees, Institutions,
Associations and Societies,
A vain, speech-mouthing, speech-reporting Guild,
One Benefit-Club for mutual flattery,
We have drunk up, demure as at a grace,
Pollutions from the brimming cup of wealth;
Contemptuous of all honourable rule,
Yet bartering freedom and the poor man's life
For gold, as at a market! The sweet words
Of Christian promise, words that even yet
Might stem destruction, were they wisely preached,
Are muttered o'er by men, whose tones proclaim
How flat and wearisome they feel their trade:
Rank scoffers some, but most too indolent
To deem them falsehoods or to know their truth.
Oh! blasphemous! the Book of Life is made
A superstitious instrument, on which
We gabble o'er the oaths we mean to break;
For all must swear -all and in every place,
College and wharf, council and justice-court;
All, all must swear, the briber and the bribed,
Merchant and lawyer, senator and priest,
The rich, the poor, the old man and the young;
All, all make up one scheme of perjury,
That faith doth reel; the very name of God
Sounds like a juggler's charm; and, bold with joy,
Forth from his dark and lonely hiding-place
(Portentous sight!) the owlet Atheism,
Sailing on obscene wings athwart the noon,
Drops his blue-fringed lids, and holds them close,
And hooting at the glorious sun in Heaven,
Cries out, "Where is it?"

Thankless too for peace,
(Peace long preserved by fleets and perilous seas)
Secure from actual warfare, we have loved
To swell the war-whoop, passionate for war!
Alas! for ages ignorant of all
Its ghastlier workings, (famine or blue plague,
Battle, or siege, or flight through wintry snows,)
We, this whole people, have been clamorous
For war and bloodshed; animating sports,
The which we pay for as a thing to talk of,
Spectators and not combatants! No guess
Anticipative of a wrong unfelt,
No speculation on contingency,
However dim and vague, too vague and dim
To yield a justifying cause; and forth,
(Stuffed out with big preamble, holy names,
And adjurations of the God in Heaven,)
We send our mandates for the certain death
Of thousands and ten thousands! Boys and girls,
And women, that would groan to see a child
Pull off an insect's leg, all read of war,
The best amusement for our morning meal!
The poor wretch, who has learnt his only prayers
From curses, who knows scarcely words enough
To ask a blessing from his Heavenly Father,
Becomes a fluent phraseman, absolute
And technical in v

Answer :
Fears in Solitude.
This is one of the 'Conversation' poems written by S.T.Coleridge. As the title indicates it is a form of conversation not bound by a rhyme scheme. The term conversation poem was coined in 1928 by George McLean Harper. Harper considered the poem as representing a form of blank verse that is "...more fluent and easy than Milton's, or any that had been written since Milton." Another critic is of the opinion that the poem maintains a middle register of speech, employing an idiomatic language that is capable of being construed as un-symbolic and un-musical: language that lets itself be taken as 'merely talk' rather than rapturous 'song'.

Help on tattoo ideas and stuff!!?

heya :')
I am gettin a tattoo and ihave many choices which i have designed myself and that mean somethin in my life can you help me decide which you think is the best one i should get as my first tattoo?!

1. A Red rose with a skull overlapping it -- this is to symbolise that i enjoy life and try and make the most of it and see beauty in everything but have had alot of hard times that will never be forgotten--- this will be on my lower back

A heart dressed as a lock and key with 'mum' written over the top in old english-- this is to symbolise that i love my mum alot but shows that we have many secrets and memories shared between us-- this will be on the bottom of my wrist

An anklet with an anchor -- my dad works out at sea and i think the ocean is the best thing on the planet that shows freedom and love

tahh for your helf ;) xx

Answer :
I think you've got some really good symbolism there and good reasons.

Consider taking all the designs you've got down to your local tatto shop and see what your artist has to say. Maybe he/she can do a heart-lock for you with an anchor on one side and a rose on the other. Or maybe a rose where the petals imply a lock & an anchor?

So, yeah, I'd go down to your shop and talk to the person who's going to be the one doing it.

Answer :
since when did you become a sailor? oh im sorry, i thought only people who served in the navy got anchors. a red rose is trashy. a heart with "mum" is too traditional and trashy. those tattoos would get clowned on if you got those. dont get them. and what is this "stuff" you talk about? i can help you on tattoo ideas but you need to clarify what this "stuff" is.

Answer :
This has nothing to do with the answer that you are wanting but i like daisy chains around the ankle and on the side of bellies x check this out

Are parents really necessary?

Parents were made just too simply pretend they care when they don’t and flap their faces in your face spurting effervescent and nonsensical bullshit into our fragile teenage minds. For a teenage, trying to make sense of this world is like giving a 2 year old algebra to do or a frog a Sudoku and expecting them to fulfil the task to expect precision without shitting themselves in fear at the fact the intimidating task is completely impossible.
They were genetically modified to nag, their **** or balls to sag, become an irritating, overwhelming dictating old bag. They say get a job ... what it means is ... give me some money. I love you son/daughter but your love won’t pay my bills ... I’m going to have to beat you, spit on you, knock you out and sit on you ... wipe my *** on you and **** on you and your dreams or future plans. Believe that everything is impossible for your spawn until they prove you otherwise. They are incapable gelatinous blobs that have grown bones and destroy themselves with drugs and alcohol ... the whole damn lot of them are worthless.
Life for parents would seem monotonous and meaningless if they couldn’t scream and shout at something smaller than them, kick the object in the ribs, cut its hair off and strip it of its identity while stealing its dignity and humiliating it.
“Ever since the day you were born my love for you has grown and grown ... but so has my thirst and craving to piss on your unrealistic and pitiful dream ... you’re a pathetic excuse for a son and I hope you spontaneously combust your ashes will be payment enough for me”
When you are a child your taught to believe in magic and fairytales and cruelly and maliciously beaten with unrealistic **** that chokes you when you get older and realise life isn’t all it seems when you’re younger. You expect a happy ending but are disappointed your parents have lied to you when you realise you won’t because one day you will die ... just like your pet budgie called Bert did when you were 4 years old.
Are parents really necessary after they have taught you life’s morals? ... No they aren’t because they won’t even allow you to sponge off them for the rest of your life. After you know what is right and wrong and good and bad they should be taken away and thrown into the sea to live as mermaids for eternity and live off the **** at the bottom of the ocean. Yeah, that sounds about right ... banish the ones who gave birth to you and life will have a new meaning! ... Fun and freedom. Let this be the truth unto you all!

Questions about teen hangout on royal caribbean cruise ship :)?

So I am fortunate enough to be going on a cruise in March! I am really excited so i have been researching the ship. We are traveling on The Freedom Of The Seas with Royal Caribbean. I know they have teen hangouts, Fuel is the disco and The Living Room is the day to day hangout.

I just wanted to know...
Ages for both places
If they are any good
What happens there
ANY INFO!

please answer if you have been on a Royal Caribbean cruise!
tanks so much! you will all help me enjoy this experience even more!
:)

Answer :
The cruise website will tell you what the age limits are for the teen hangouts. And, YES, they do check -- you have to present your passport or birth certificate when you board the ship.

My teens would not tell me what all they did at the teen hangouts. They would just smile and say they had fun, and they were always there, so it must have been pretty cool. They would only come out for dinner and shore excursions, and they stayed until the place closed each night.

Answer :
1)the ages for both would be ages 12-14 and 15-17
2)my daughter has been in them and said they were amazing and fun
3)she said that the ship we went on had jam sessions and some ships have different activities that you can do and they are fun.

have fun on your cruise

Could anyone help me analyze the meaning of this poem?

We two, how long we were fool'd,
Now transmuted, we swiftly escape as Nature escapes,
We are Nature, long have we been absent, but now we return,
We become plants, trunks, foliage, roots, bark,
We are bedded in the ground, we are rocks,
We are oaks, we grow in the openings side by side,
We browse, we are two among the wild herds spontaneous as any,
We are two fishes swimming in the sea together,
We are what locust blossoms are, we drop scent around lanes mornings
and evenings,
We are also the coarse smut of beasts, vegetables, minerals,
We are two predatory hawks, we soar above and look down,
We are two resplendent suns, we it is who balance ourselves orbic
and stellar, we are as two comets,
We prowl fang'd and four-footed in the woods, we spring on prey,
We are two clouds forenoons and afternoons driving overhead,
We are seas mingling, we are two of those cheerful waves rolling
over each other and interwetting each other,
We are what the atmosphere is, transparent, receptive, pervious, impervious,
We are snow, rain, cold, darkness, we are each product and influence
of the globe,
We have circled and circled till we have arrived home again, we two,
We have voided all but freedom and all but our own joy.

Answer :
It's clearly about two people; really good friends; potential soul mates, etc etc. Meaning this poem is describing the relationship of two people deeply in love who believe that love is eternal, even after death into the next life and the one after that.

For my coursework i have to write a poem, its based on the novel the road?

Could you tell me what you think of my poem please remember its only for coursework and its got the idea of the novel the road please dont be mean but be honest and could you suggest what i could change :::::
I remember the day, when god closed his eyes,
When the devil charmed him to a deep sleep
how everything fell apart
when the devil ascended to earth and stole our heart and souls.
Trapped by fear with nowhere to run,
Forests burnt with hurried haste; there was no hiding in this darkened place.
Cities fell with each passing day as did our hope for our failing race,
the night would come for the weary travellers, most would rest, and others wouldn’t wake.
Flakes of snow each one individual would fall like glimmers of hope,
sent down from heaven, by the angels to watch us from above,
The sun would rise and the sun would fall,
A new day began, but nothing changed;
It’s hard to believe that beauty once existed;
How a bee would dance carefree, flying from tree to tree,
No sound is made, there is no dancing bee, and nothing can ever be carefree.
Birds roamed the skies, watching over mankind,
Ash now roams the skies, no one cares about mankind;
We sit round the fire, the colours danced in the fire, tonight we hoped god was listening, we prayed prayed for god to hear our cries, our cries for death
Rumours of freedom passed through our ears,
Heading south was our only hope.
The trees we strived to keep alive lie broken, upon the ash ridden ground
Fugitives in our country, hiding from your ancestors.
We have forgotten why this hurt has happened; it has gone on too long.
Our bodies so weak, our bones on show, so hungry for food.
Natural beauty lined the sky, a parade of colours reds, blues, and greens;
this was something the devil couldn’t wipe from existence.
We travelled along the lonesome road passing the weak,
Passing the once sweet smelling grass now dead and black,
The once bright and vibrant amusement arcade stood dead and ruined
We could hear echoes of the tunes from the rotten band stand .
How I wanted to dance to forget the hurt, to hear music again would let me die happy but
the sea is now grey, and angry with us.
It crashes down upon the beaten sand to wash away the graves,
Picnic benches that once held families so joyful, no worries when the next meal would come,
Families dead in each other arms, they died in their sleep, escaped from the worries.
The dark snuck in, the beach was where we couldn’t hide from your ancestors,
nowhere was truly safe.
Flashbacks of times at the beach, kept our spirits high,
I shut my eyes, reminiscing the smells of the barbeques, the laughs of the children, the crashing of the waves, if only I was back in time.
Ships, boats and yachts get thrown around like a cat with yarn.
We couldn’t hear any sound, no one to speak to again.
To hear a bird chirp, to see a butterfly fly would complete my life before god helps me
its time to leave this world, and say goodbye.
No time left in my life.
I remember the day when god opened his eyes
It was too late, to turn back time.

Answer :
I have to admit I haven't read the whole thing....and this is the poem's major fault....as they say 'It goes on a bit'
However, what I have read is excellent and it captures the novel well (I know because I've just read it)

I think you could finish the poem before you get to the particulars - you could finish on

It crashes down upon the beaten sand
and washes away the unattended graves.
We are the last. After us nothing will remain (or something, just to round it off)
....don't throw out the end, though, don't ever throw anything away - put it aside you can use it for another poem.

Is the Freedom of the sea a good cruise?

We are a family of six and we were thinking to go on a cruise soon but The price scares me. It says that the room is $850 per person so it would be $4800 for our family but what does this include. Do we get a food package or what? What would you think your final price will be?

Answer :
Food is included. Your passengers beyond the first two should receive a lower rate. Still, I think you could find a better deal on a cruise if money is a concern. Shop Norwegian, or one of Carnival's newers ships. Don't be afraid by their low prices....both are good lines.

Good luck!

Answer :
It sounds like you did some research, do some more.

First of all, you will need at least 2 rooms. There isn't a room that will handle 6 in one room.

For each room, the first 2 people will each pay 850, the 3rd and 4th person pays a much less amount. You just have to look and see for your specific cruise. But I'm guessing your final price will probably be around $4000.

If this is your first cruise, you need to work with a cruise travel agency. Otherwise, you may end up with something you don't want.

Most food on a cruise ship is included in the price of the cruise. Again, this is what a travel agent can answer for you. They don't charge you extra for their service. They get a commission from the cruise line.

Realize a cruise ship will do several different intineraries. For example, a ship will do a 1 week western caribbean route, aka cruise. The next week it will do an eastern caribbean cruise. Then for part of a year it will rotate over to Europe during the caribbean hurricane season.

So just saying you going on a Freedom of the Seas cruise doesn't mean anything.

Answer :
Well, first you need to figure out exactly how much the room or rooms are going to cost. Six of you are not going to be able to sleep in one room, and each room must have an adult. And the cost of the third or fourth in a room is cheaper than the first two. So make sure you get that all straight.

The price of the cruise includes unlimited food, all day long, and all beverages except alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and bottled water. That means you can get coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, milk, and juices. If you choose to go to a specialty restaurant, it is not free. Room service is free, but you need to give a tip.

You also have access to many, many activities, sports, classes, seminars, etc. The Freedom of the Seas has a wide variety of things to do. It also has a number of pools and jacuzzis. They are free, as well as the deck chairs and beach towels.

There's also free entertainment, including evening shows, movies, ice shows, adult games, entertainment and games at the pool, etc. The cruise I went on even had 2 parades.

The fitness center, which is large and elaborate is free.
There's a free library.

There are programs for all age groups of children and teens, plus areas specifically set aside for these age groups. These programs are free. Private baby sitting is not free.

The SPA (beauty shop and massage salon) is not free.
Professional pictures are not free.
The casino, bingo, and any betting games are not free.
Medical care is not free.
Laundry is not free.
If you buy anything in a ship store, it is not free.

When you go ashore, anything you do is at your expense. Ship excursions cost more than those you will find when you get off the ship. You can walk around and not spend anything. You can hire a cab with a tour driver, or anything else you want to do. Excursions could cost from $20-to over $100 per person.

Tips on the ship are given at the end of the cruise, and come to a total of about $10 per person, per day.

An important thing. No cash is used on the ship. You are given a card which serves as both your room key and a charge card. You can hook it up with your personal charge card, and after the cruise, you can pay it this way. You can even pay your tips with this card.

So, in summary, aside from the original cruise fare, you need to pay for tips, and any excursions. It is possible to have a wonderful time, without any other expenses. But that's up to you. Many people must drink, gamble, go to specialty restaurants, and do all the other things that cost money.

Answer :
your gonna need passports, a credit card, and cash. party on.

Answer :
cruises are so much fun!
im only a teen and i have been on 10.
anyways.
you will DEFINETLY need a passport i beleive ( might wanna double check )
you can pay everything in cash.
but like when you go on you get a key to your room...thats like your credit card.
when you buy a drink you just use that on the morning you are leaving the ship there will be a big envelope in your room and that is your bill. i dont think you have to pay it right there tho.
also i would DEF. bring some sorta medicine in case you get sea sick.
a beer is probl around $7.00 - $10.00
but you might wanna bring some money with you just in case.

also i have been on that cruise its amazing ;]
good luck & hope you have fun!

Why are the Southern "Red States" so strong ideologically, even though they get conquered every 3 or 4 Decades?

First the Spanish conquered the South then the French next Andrew Jackson then the civil war and Sherman's march to the sea. After that the Carpetbaggers took over the South then Northern Industrialists followed by Standard Oil of New York Jim Crow the depression Scheme KKK and the 1960's Freedom Fighters.

It's a long list of conquest; but the South is still unmoved

Answer :
Carpetbaggers and KKK both were democrat ideas

Not really

Greedy individules are like camilions they go from Red to Blue at the wave of a dollar

In the 1800's most of the slave owners were Northern Investers that controled the Stock Market and Cotton Industry But who took the blame average working class people. Indentured White Farm Worker

Answer :
Andrew Jackson? the French? The Spanish? You know nothing of history. The spanish settled Florida, then the south west. Texas Mexico, Arizona, California were settled by the Spanish. The french were taking Canada. They didn't conquered it, the settled it and it was taken from them. Andrew Jackson defeated the British in the war of 1812 just outside of New Orleans, out numbered 2 to 1, his troops only suffered a dozen casualties and 14 wounded.
Something to think about, It is better to keep your mouth closed and thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt>

Answer :
The south never had a strong industrial base during the times you mentioned. Some were a stretch by the way.
They do now. It would be much different.
No one can move the south on the question of their independence.

Answer :
Your history line here reflects "every 3 or 4 decades???"

How bout going back to school and brush up on math.

Then history.

Then Logic.

Answer :
A long tradition of ignoring history in favor of myth. Anyone that can ignore slavery as a factor in the Civil War while insisting it is all about States Rights can believe almost anything.

Answer :
THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN

Your "history" is very inaccurate...I suggest you go and study before trying to stir things up on YA!

Would Milton have been good value, for the Collins project ?

Milton! thou shouldst be living at this hour: England hath need of thee: she is a fen Of stagnant waters: altar, sword and pen, Fireside, the heroic wealth of hall and bower, Have forfeited their ancient English dower Of inward happiness.We are selfish men; Oh! raise us up, return to us again; And give us manners, virtue, freedom, power. Thy soul was like a star, and dwelt apart; Thou hadst a voice whose sound was like the sea: Pure as the naked heavens, majestic, free, So didst thou travel on life's common way, In cheerful godliness; and yet thy heart The lowliest duties on herself did lay.

-Wordsworth,William
'Milton! thou shouldst be living at this hour', complete poem (published1807).

Answer :
I guess so. If Shakespeare would have been of good value as well :

LXVI

1. Tired with all these, for restful death I cry,
2. As to behold desert a beggar born,
3. And needy nothing trimm'd in jollity,
4. And purest faith unhappily forsworn,
5. And gilded honour shamefully misplac'd,
6. And maiden virtue rudely strumpeted,
7. And right perfection wrongfully disgrac'd,
8. And strength by limping sway disabled
9. And art made tongue-tied by authority,
10. And folly, doctor-like, controlling skill,
11. And simple truth miscalled simplicity,
12. And captive good attending captain ill:
13. Tir'd with all these, from these would I be gone,
14. Save that, to die, I leave my love alone.

Answer :
How about Shakespeare ?

For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Ham.III.1.69-76.

Is it possible to be more then one Zodiac sign? You don't have to read the info to answer it's long! lol?

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ THE INFO IT IS LONG AND I ONLY PUT IT THERE OUT OF BOREDOM YOU CAN JUST READ THE QUESTION AND THE VERY FIRST PARAGRAPH AFTER THIS ONE BUT THAT IS IT

Because I'm a Pisces but according to my Bio teacher the stars changed place's so technically I'm a Aries. And I looked up traits of both and I'm like 50/50 on both of some. Some traits match me on Pisces and others are WAY off. Same with Aries. Some trait examples are:

Some correct traits are:

Pisces: Selfless and unworldly Escapist (majorly!!!) idealistic (i think) Secretive and vague respond with the utmost sympathy and tact to any suffering they encounter They accept the people around them and the circumstances in which they find themselves rather than trying to adapt them to suit themselves, and they patiently wait for problems to sort themselves out rather than take the initiative in solving them. They are more readily concerned with the problems of others than with their own.
Their natures tend to be too otherworldly for the practical purposes of living in this world as it is. They sometimes exist emotionally rather than rationally, instinctively more than intellectually (depending on how they are aspected). They also dislike disciple and confinement. The nine-to-five life is not for them. Any rebellion they make against convention is personal, however, as they often times do not have the energy or motivation to battle against the Establishment. tend to withdraw into a dream world where their qualities can bring mental satisfaction They are also versatile and intuitive, have quick understanding, observe and listen well, and are receptive to new ideas and atmospheres love of, beauty in art and nature, a catlike appreciation of luxury and pleasure, and a yearning for new sensations and travel to remote, exotic places. They are never egotistical in their personal relationships and give more than they ask from their friends. They are sexually delicate, in the extreme almost asexual, and most Pisceans would want a relationship in which the partner's mind and spirit rather than the body resonated with their own. Unfortunately they can be easily misled by a lover who courts them delicately and in marriage makes them unhappy by a coarser sexuality than they expected. They are nevertheless intensely loyal and home-loving and will remain faithful. Their sympathy equips them for work in charities catering for the needy, as nurses looking after the sick and as veterinary surgeons caring for animals. (I either want to be a vet or a psychologist) satisfy their mental wanderlust, and their fondness for "faraway places with strange-sounding names" LIKES Solitude to dream in Mystery in all its guises Anything discarded to stay discarded The ridiculous like to get 'lost' (I love getting lost) DISLIKES the obvious being criticized
feeling all at sea about something know-it-alls pedantry

Aries: Adventurous and energetic Pioneering and courageous Enthusiastic and confident Dynamic and quick-witted Selfish and quick-tempered Impulsive and impatient The Arian is a pioneer both in thought and action, very open to new ideas and a lover of freedom. They welcome challenges and will not be diverted from their purpose except by their own impatience, which will surface if they don't get quick results. Aries subjects are courageous leaders with a genuine concern for those they command, being responsible people, it is rare that they will use their subordinates to obtain their own objectives as leaders They do not make very good followers because they are too "take charge". They may be unwilling to obey or submit to directions for which they can see no reason, or with which they disagree. They are much concerned with self, both positively and negatively - self-reliant but also self centered (sometimes) Their immense energy makes them aggressive and restless, argumentative occasionally, headstrong, quick tempered, easily offended and capable of holding grudges if they feel themselves affronted. as an Arian (as you are referred to), is to simply "get something started and lead the way". The Sun in this zodiac position gives your will free rein to express itself. You could be doing this in the form of some leadership role, or by forcing others to look at themselves in a new way. You can accomplish this by knowingly carrying out a deliberate act in the name of some cause that moves you. A negative effect of this sun sign is that you could sometimes unknowingly make it hard for others to relate to you, as you really are. (It's uber difficult for people to relate) You can easily be irritated by slowness or moderation in your companions and, though yourselves sensitive, ride roughshod over the sensitivities of others highly devoted to their children, even to the point of laying down their own lives, so that they might live. You will not find a more defensive and loving parent in all the zodiac. (when I have a child or become a teacher that will be me t

Answer :
It is not really possible to be two sun signs -- if in doubt you would check your chart by the time you were born to determine the exact sun position, but the calculation method used doesn't really recognize any point where the sun would be in two signs at once. Some people are born on a cusp (on the day of a transition) but I have yet to hear of a case where, once their exact time of birth was known and calculated, there weren't determined to be one sign or another.

In your case you're referring to the shift of star positions over time. It is true that star positions have shifted but that's almost irrelevant to zodiac calculation. The positioning of the signs wasn't really calculated by the stars' literal position anyway (otherwise, firstly, there would be 13 signs instead of 12 -- Ophiuchus is in the zodiac path.) Rather they are decided more by the sun's position in the sky.

As for matching the traits of both signs -- most astrology you'll find is just cold reading, where they tend to give personality profiles that will apply to anyone for all the signs. Chances are, you would 50% match descriptions for other signs too.

Answer :
You actually have three astrological signs. Your sun sign is the one that everyone knows about (determined based on the day you were born). But there is also your Moon sign (depending on the phase of moon when you were born) and your Rising sign (determined by what time you were born). There are charts online that show these signs. You have tratits of all three signs but often lean towards one of the three, making it your dominant sign.

Answer :
Astrology is more for fun than anything. I don't think your personality can be determined by when you were born. Also, it depends on which astrological calendar you go by if you're close to the break between signs. Astrology is so vague that it makes it so that you can find a way to agree with whatever tripe it gives you.

Answer :
Of course, if you are born on a cusp you will have characteristics and aspects of two zodiac signs. Also you have to add in your moon sign, rising sign, etc. We are more than just our sun sign.

I am not an optimist about Americans keeping their freedom, are you?

A great quote by an unknown author:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to the depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. Thus, the problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

Americans have been on a loosing streak! And not just Obama- MOST politicians! What do you think?:
Is America at the point of no return?
Are we soon going to say "The once great nation"
Will in the next few decades we will want to immigrate over seas to live the Chinese dream?
Must there be another revolution to undo what has been done?
Or can we straighten up before we have gone too far?

I know my point of view- Im interesten to hear America's!

Additional Details

AMEN Arizona, those two lines says so much

Data, I see where you are comming from. But I must admit I say the fools deserve what they get, and the smart ones get out there and drive those blood sucking politicians out of office and make things right!
GO AHEAD GOVERNMENT- XEROX THAT COMMENT!

ZF- be careful with your research, I am highly aware that the media often embellishes and lies, however, one can not turn their head on the actual truths, the US is at an all time high with dropout rates (up to 50% of students IN SOME STATES) Science is having budget cuts left and right- (as obama has already announced with the cut in NASA) the military had an enormous amount of cuts. With less than 0.25% (yes a quarter of one percent) of the American people in the military, I am shocked when the nearby military base has had THEIR GAURDS FIRED leaving the base open to anyone to enter....My goodness these are things I see in real life- the media didnt show me these horrors. Look at history, every great nation has fallen, are we so naive to believe ours is untouchable?

dudeman612...I think I have read the comments of an individual that understands the importance of knowing history and how it is a predictor of the future. The question is now, how do we, the people that understand such urgent circumstances fight against this...can it be done despite the growing number of the ill informed and the overly-comfortable?

Mario B: YOU ARE RIGHT As a great leader of freedom said :"1."When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." There is a reason the right to bear arms is seconded only to freedom of speech- Do people think that Fidel Castro came about overnight? These things happen when people have no defense in their government, and the government no longer have reason to hold back their power

Answer :
The way the people have been giving up their freedoms and transferring more and more power to the central government by electing ambitious and crooked politicians for the last century makes me skeptical that things will get any better.

We have a monumental opportunity come this election cycle, due to the hostility toward and mistrust of our incompetent government, to throw the bums out and start over. Unfortunately, for a few reasons, I am not getting to excited or expecting to much.

First off, people have always complained about congress, but then when they are asked about their particular representative, they like them and want to reelect them. They just want to see everyone elses representative get the boot and start over.

Secondly, the electorate has a very short attention span. So, even if they elect new faces this Nov., it is unlikely that this fervor will maintain itself until the next election. Voters are complacent and it takes a lot to get them riled up to change things, and usually the slightest bit of change will appease them and they'll go back to their slumber. Once that happens, the crooked politicians get drunk with power and start all over again.

And thirdly, there is so much misinformation and half truths out there that most people don't know what to think. Most people will just believe who ever can push their "emotion" buttons the most. Most voters are very poorly informed about politics, the pros and cons of certain policies, political history, who the candidate really is, and so on. I don't think most people take the time to really know who they are electing and what that politicians platform equates to, what we can expect if their policies come true.

I do agree with the quote about Obama, or any politician, being nothing more than a mere symptom of incompetent, ill-informed, and/or lazy voters.

Nations rise and fall, and during their lifetime they also ebb and flow between rising prosperity and declining prosperity. The decline is usually slow and hard to detect and it usually comes after the nation's highest point of prosperity. Primarily because the citizenry is living the good life and they become lazy and complacent due to living the good life. They basically become pampered and expect everything to come easily, instant gratification. Which is where we are at now.

Answer :
oh I love when people talk about freedom
when the reality the government control all aspect of you life

you don't need to put soldiers in your cities
to have a tyranny dictatorship

just remember people can ruin your life with a ink pen

Answer :
well i dont think all of that is true at all. you see, the unfortunate truth about this world is that it is run by the media. by the sounds of things, ur a little too tied in it all. what is happening with the us at the present time is exaggerated. America is no worse than it was during the great depression. the us is still the information, research, entertainment, academic, and military capital of the world, and thats not changing any time soon. the american dream is still alive. and although the president isn't very well liked, America will always be on top.

What should I do about my almost 20 year old daughter who is engaged and wants to move out?

My daughter is a first year in university and lives at home. She met a man who is 25 about two and half months ago. He is really nice but isn't in school or anything. He has a steady and stable job though and is planning on returning to school because my daughter asked him to.
They see each other two or three times a week. He doesn't distract her from school work because he's always at work. He's doing roughly 40-45 hours a week.
My daughter wanted to sleep over at his house and I don't like it. I feel like her younger siblings (12, 9 and 4) might wonder where she is during the night. He's allowed to sleep over here on the couch but unfortunately with the little ones downstairs they spend most of their time in her room which has no tv or anything. so they'd rather stay at his place. she spends a lot of money on cabs because he lives an hours walk and no busses run after 6.
I don't like her sleeping there

Anyways she said about how it isn't fair and she should be allowed sleeping there once a month but it makes me uncomfortable and I don't want her to get in the habit.

Her and her boyfriend are engaged now. She said she'd wait until after university to get married.
He's offered for her to move in but she hasn't pushed me for it. My husband works away at sea for 2/3 of the year leaving me behind with my daughter and three younger children (12, 9, and 4).
She is suggesting that she moves out for that 1/3 of the year that my husband is home so she can babysit when we want to go out but still have her freedom.

I don't like this at all. I feel like she is moving too fast and she isn't enjoying life to the fullest. She seems to really love him and sees him as a best friend but it makes me nervous. It's so soon and I feel like my family will look at me funny.
He gets along great with the kids, they absolutely love him. Our entire extended family seems to think he's a very sweet and silly guy.

How do I manage this situation?
I feel like she's abandoning me and confusing the children. I feel like she's going to soon even though she's seems very sure in her decision - more sure than anything else.
She doesn't care about the risks she says she loves him a lot and wants to spend the rest of her life with him because he makes her so happy. She says if she becomes unhappy she will leave just like a relationship. He is just as set as she is.
It frightens me though because I'm afraid she'll get hurt.

How do I handle this situation? Is it unfair of me to be so critical and not allow any flexibility?

Thank you

Answer :
"If you love someone, let them go."

Your daughter is an adult now. That doesn't change the fact that you're her mother and that you care about her and worry about her... but she is ready to stand on her own feet. She no longer needs "parenting" so to speak.

She might get hurt - anyone of any age in any relationship might get hurt. It's part of life and learning and growing and no parent can protect their child from this.

I honestly don't think this would affect your younger children. I have four younger siblings and none of them were affected in the slightest by my having a boyfriend at 20! It sounds like you're worried about losing her adult company, especially as your husband is away. Let her live her life and she'll come back to you. It sounds like she's being more than reasonable and giving plenty of consideration to you and your needs... but she shouldn't need to feel she can't live as she chooses for fear of hurting her mother. You're lucky she's even asking permission to stay with him at the age of 20!

Basically, the situation doesn't need handling in any way. Just trust her judgement and be there if she needs you. You don't have to let him sleep over at your house, especially with the other kids around... but there's no reason why a 20 year old can't stay over at her boyfriends house.

Answer :
Your daughter is an adult not a child. It is time she moves out anyway. It is her decision and she may not have gone this route had she moved out to go to school rather than staying home. However, the only thing you can do is let her know how you feel then if she opts to go wish her well, have a bridal shower once the date is set and hope for the best.

Answer :
As far as abandoning you, she's doing what is the natural order of things by creating a family of her own. I understand feeling like she's rushing things but all you can do is mention your concerns, let her chew it over and stand back.

Answer :
She's definitely old enough to spend the night with her fiance. I understand your concerns how it looks to the younger children though. I would tell them either she's at a girlfriend's house, or explain she's at her boyfriend's but they sleep in different rooms. They don't need to know the truth.

You can't worry about her "abandoning" you. It's not her job to raise the other children. It's her job to live her life fully and attend school and do well there.

Answer :
IMHO, it sounds like you want to her at home to help out with the other children.

She is an adult, and at 20 years old, I see no reason for her to still be living at home if she doesn't want to. She is an adult, and engaged to this man, so she should be allowed to stay over at his house.

It does seem awful quick to get engaged though

Answer :
Take your daughter out to eat, Neutral location. Express your concerns, Ask her to give them serious thought. At the end or near the end of the meal. Also say or ask if how you can help with the wedding if it is her true chouse after serious thought on her part.

Answer :
Legally you cannot stop her from getting engaged at 20 years old as she is now an adult. You have no legal authority over her once she turned 18. There are some people who are ready for marriage in their late teens-20s. I got married at 19 and my husband is 8 years older than I am. We are still together 3 years later and very happy. I'm in college now and my husband graduated December 2009 with a Master degree. I plan on getting four degrees in total (am almost done with my 3rd semester of college). She is not "abandoning you" she is living her life. It sounds to me like your daughter and her fiancee are very mature for their age and know what they want in life. I do question the fact that the only reason her fiancee is going back to school is because she asked him to. He should go back to school because HE wants to, not to make his fiancee happy. Not all girls in their teens-20s are into partying, sleeping with random men, bar hopping, drinking, partying lifestyle. I was never into that kind of nonsense as a teenager. I was more focused on settling down and starting a family and was more mature than the majority of girls in my senior class. Good grades were important to me in school and I didn't want to mess that up by partying, bar hopping,, sleeping around like a hoe, etc. I managed to graduate high school in the top 50 out of 200 students, get to be Salutatorian in 11th grade, got inducted into the National Honor Society at 19, graduated high school twice with two high school diplomas and graduated high school with a 3.313 GPA. I was on the Dean's List with a 3.50 QPA my first semester of college (which I got done in 3 months at 21 years old). I thought about college off and on after we got married (one of the reasons I got married young is because I was being forced to go to college against my will by my mother and guidance counselor at school and I wasn't ready for college). I also know my limits and knew if I went to college that college boys would take advantage of me and then I wouldn't be pure on my wedding night (which was important to me). My husband is the one who encouraged me to go to college and is very supportive of my education major (I'm doing an A.S. in Early Childhood Education.) My point is that you can be successful if you marry young. And your other children need to realize that their sister is a grown woman and is going to one day leave the family, get married and have her own children. They need to understand that big sister isn't going to be there forever. I have three younger siblings myself (a 20 year old sister, 10 year old sister, and 7 year old brother). They are understanding of me being married and realize that just because I am married, doesn't mean that I will ignore them. They know I will always be there for them even when my husband and I have our own children (Insha Allah).

Answer :
You manage the situation with grace and dignity. Let your daughter move out - she is old enough. It's not fair on her if you treat her as a husband substitute. The whole idea of having children is to raise them to be happy, healthy and independent adults. By moving out she is not abandoning you just taking the next natural step in her life.

I reworked this,better? Worse? Eh,what?

Thoughts on the Sea World disaster

Once this fierce leviathon
threaded waves from hurricanes,
his freedom bursting from his breast
just like his churning spitting breath.
Now a sorry speciman swimming a small pool
with no conviction.
He dragged the mermaid to her death, unconscious of her love for him.
He perceived her as another circus toy
another tempting fish
to make his addling brain
even more confused
as to what his role is supposed to be
in this wrong and fearful place.

Answer :
BRAVO! Poor thing was imprisoned BEFORE he committed the crime. My condolences to the family of the trainer, though; she had to have loved her work - and the creatures.

Answer :
First of all, I hate, ... nay, loathe people who kiss butt without any real depth to their analysis.

My opinion, what do I think?
Eh. It doesn't seem to flow enough for my own taste The word "conviction" doesn't quite seem right, in my own opinion. A sorry specimen swimming a small pool with no conviction.... so he's swimming, without being convinced of the truth, not accepting that he's in captivity? Maybe that's what you mean?

Just FYI, "leviathon" is "leviathan".

I actually think he did know she felt love. I think that's why he got hormonal and grabbed her, because in a way he was reaching out to her. Poor guy. This is an example of how I would write it, in my own way, using your poem as inspiration:

Once this fierce leviathan
threading waves from hurricanes
swimming, eating, bursting freedom
no shackles, loneliness or pain

now a prisoner confined in place
condemned for venting frustration
mother nature defends its case
beast pleads, twas only affection

restless, confused he swam around
hormones raging, calmness abating
day dreaming the past, applauding crowd
thoughts of escape, his family waiting

motherly saint who feeds me fish?
Oh look a human toy what's this?
Leaping craze, his grand finish
an innocent mermaid, meets heaven's bliss

Something like this..... with flow. entertaining, sends a message, easy to understand.
just my humble opinion, I hate criticizing art, I prefer to use it to inspire myself to create something new and different :) so no criticism here, your art is yours, your work inspired me to express it in my own way :)

Love Question: I need Advice?

I've been with my girlfriend (only girlfriend) for about 8 months now. July 21st last year.

I don't feel as though i'm in love with her.
I care about her soooooooo much and I think she is an awesome person and she does mean the world to me. but.. I like my space, she went over seas for a month and I didn't really miss her that much at all, when I hear love songs I don't think of her, they remind me about how much someone i was in love with hurt me.

There is so much I want to do and I don't want to settle down and commit and worry about someone all the time and make sure it's ok with them for me to do things so they're not lonely.

I ask for space but it doesn't work for her, I don't wanna hurt her, I kinda told her yesterday and she fell to bits over it but id rather it happen now then later on down the track, she is great and i know im hurting her. but my concellor told me you cant be with someone out of pitty.

love is love right doesnt it have to be that special kind of thing, I dont feel happy. I wish she could be, maybe in the future but i feel like we rushed things way to much and i just miss having my freedom.

Answer :
Because you believe "you should never let anything, anyone or any excuse hold you back from doing what you wanna achieve in life" it seems to me that you should let her know that you want to move on in your life without any commitment right now, and that it doesn't mean you don't love her, only that you have places to go and things to do before you might someday be ready to settle down with somebody.

Yes, if she loves you and is attached to being with you, it will hurt her, but it will hurt both of you if you just keep stringing her along while wishing you were free to live your life as you want to right now.

Answer :
As much as It sucks dude you know the answer. Its better to hurt someone because you walked away then to scar them for life saying something hurt or even worse, if you care about her than you should let her go and enjoy your freedom. But really think about what you want.

Answer :
Let me first say: There are many forms of love.

I'm sure and can see that you do care...but i can also see that you don't care for her as much as one should while in a relationship.

I do not get your question but best thing for both you AND her is to break up (if you have not already).

Even though she will be hurt, she'll get over it and find someone else. There are many others.
But you should let her know that you do love her...but more of as a good friend. (Because that is basically how you feel)

Answer :
Honey your counsellor is absolutely right, you cannot nor should not be with anyone out of pity, even just for friendships sake. People have actually married when one felt the way you do, and the marriage goes on for some years, but the yearning to really feel that special emotionally love that truly does bite us when it happens, will nag away at you, and eventually people such as these end up having affairs.

So your perfectly right in saying better the hurt now than X amount of years down the line, when you may not just be hurting yourself and her but you own kids.

Sure the poor girl fell to bits for she is in love with you, but she is also hurting because deep down she knows her love is unrequited love, and that it will never work if you don't feel the same. So be brave, tell her you know that she is hurting, and that when she comes to realise that it was for the best that you split, and is over the hurt she is feeling now, you would appreciate still being friends with her - friendship has a love of its own, and often one that is more guaranteed to last, tell her that, and maybe it will help.

Unfortunately today many young girls and women push you guys for marriage too quick. They have their heads in the clouds with the romance of it all, but marriage is a life time commitment and one that brings romantic wishes down to reality very fast. I am not opposed to marriage, I am not saying that, but when you got a house to run, a job to go to daily, and then pick up your kids on the way home from work - romance even then has to be worked at, cos your both so tired. She thinks of love and marriage as that beautiful wedding day and fairy story ending.

Your doing the right thing, say what you need to say and walk away quickly. She will not be the only one hurting for a while anyway, so will you, for I can tell your a decent guy that hates the idea of hurting her feelings, but you will hurt her a far lot more if you go along with her and her dreams.

Good Luck. And by the way she will come to understand one day that it was the right thing you did, and she will respect you for that - but right now she still has some emotionally maturity to gain.

AP Literature Exam Practice help? Desperately need this. I have some done already!?

I cannot do compare-contrast essays worth my life. I desperately need this, and I have some done. Could you help me finish it? Please?
Here is the question.
In each of the following poems, the speaker responds to the conditions of a particular place and time --- England in 1802 in the first poem, the United States about 100 years later in the second. Read each poem carefully. Then write an essay in which you compare and contrast the two poems and analyze the relationship between them.

London, 1802
Milton! thou should'st be living at this hour:
England hath need of thee: she is a fen
Of stagnant waters: altar, sword and pen,
Fireside, the heroic wealth of hall and bower,
Have forfeited their ancient English dower
Of inward happiness. We are selfish men;
Oh! raise us up, return to us again;
And give us manners, virtue, freedom, power.
Thy soul was like a Star and dwelt apart:
Thou hadst a voice whose sound was like the sea;
Pure as the naked heavens, majestic, free,
So didst thou travel on life's common way,
In chearful godliness; and yet thy heart
The lowliest duties on itself did lay.
-William Wordsworth (1770-1850)
*Milton refers to Paradise Lost

Douglass
Ah, Douglass, we have fall'n on evil days,
Such days as thou, not even thou didst know,
When thee, the eyes of that harsh long ago
Saw, salient, at the cross of devious ways,
And all the country heard thee with amaze.
Not ended then, the passionate ebb and flow,
The awful tide that battled to and fro;
We ride amid a tempest of dispraise.

Now, when the waves of swift dissension swarm,
And Honour, the strong pilot, lieth stark,
Oh, for thy voice high-sounding o'er the storm,
For thy strong arm to guide the shivering bark,
The blast-defying power of thy form,
To give us comfort through the lonely dark.
-Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906)
*Frederick Douglass refers to an American writer, former slave, and leader in the abolitionist cause

Here is what I have done:
In the two poems by William Wordsworth and Paul Laurence Dunbar, the authors write to a figure of leadership. They each tell about misfortunes of their countries. Both poems were written about one hundred years apart, but carry a similar message.

The poem written by William Wordsworth tells about a message to John Milton. It describes how the English have become selfish and have lost their heritage and freedom. Wordsworth depicts how if Milton would return, he would be able to lead England and restore their virtues, freedom, and power.

In Paul Laurence Dunbar’s poem, there is a similar message. This message was composed for Frederick Douglass. Dunbar requests Douglass’s assistance

I know this is not much, but could you give me ideas on how to finish this?
Thank you so much to whoever helps me!

What do you think of my personality?

I love to talk. I talk to anyone and everyone. Even complete strangers on the street. I held some good conversations with them. But I'm also a good listener. If someone's in a bad mood, I can usually tell, and I ask if they wanna talk. If they don't feel like telling, my attempts to cheer them up normally fail so absurdly that they work.

I like to joke around, I'm very sarcastic. I can be serious at times, but I'm a joker at heart and can usually lighten up a very dark conversation. When it comes to VERY dark conversations, I usually can't tolerate them. Whenever someone's talking about a loved one that passed, if they're not talking to me in particular, I tend to stay out.

I enjoy talking about strange things, such as Area 51, aliens, giant sea monsters that may or may not be extinct, melting ice caps, etc. Me and Katie had a long discussion about most of those topics at once.

I like freedom, and the idea of a drifting lifestyle. I don't wanna get any kind of a stay put job- I'm interested in something like a courier or a mover.

That's obviously not everything there is to "me," but honestly- can anyone describe themselves 100%? I don't think so.

Answer :
You're personality seems to be a very good one. It's always good to be a tad sarcastic and humorous and at the same time you know when to back out of something. And those conversations don't seem strange to me, then again I love talking about those too. Haha. :)

Don't ever change the way you are, that's a great personality to keep, you seem very kind, sweet, and sincere.

Answer :
You would probably be a good freelance journalist/writer. You seem to have a natural curiosity and your outgoing personality could put people at ease and you would be effective at interviewing them. Plus, you could really see the world.

Do we really have the freedom of expression in our country?

When SRK makes a statement favoring Pakistani players, the MNS go on a rampage of city-theatres.
A young couple holding hands and walking along the Bandra sea-face, get publicly accused of indecency by the moral police.
A painter as gifted as M. F. Hussain is forced to leave the country because of a painting depicting nude goddesses offending religious sentiments.
Do we really have the freedom to express without fear? Is India really a secular country??
What do you think??

Answer :
I do not approve of the MNS or Shiv Sena's violent tactics...they are nothing more than bunches of hooligans presided over & instigated by nefarious political goons for their selfish gains...

Also I do not approve of moral policing...

I am sure that most true & patriotic Indians will agree with me on the above two points...

However as far as M F Hussain is concerned, he completely deserves the treatment that he has received at the hands of the Indian public...

Freedom of expression does not mean the freedom to violate the religious sentiments of a particular religion or caste...you should know that along with any kind of freedom comes responsibilites !!!

For example, you have the freedom to walk on the road as it is public property, but nobody is supposed to spit, throw garbage, defecate or urinate on the road...

M F Hussain has the audacity to depict Hindu goddesses as nude and in various sexual demeanours...on the other hand, he always paints Muslim women as fully clothed & modest...above all this, he has even painted a potrait called Rape of India, which depicts our country as being brutally raped by animals & men !!!

This kind of attitude cannot be accepted...it borders on treachery and M F Hussain has spit on the face of very country in which he was born and where he found success...

If you say that he is expressing his creativity by painting Hindu Goddesses in the nude, why doesn't he do the same with Islamic Prophets??? Why hasn't he ever painted Prophet Muhamed in the nude???

M F Hussain is nothing but a sick, sexually depraved old man with a dirty mind who lusts after voluptuous Bollywood actresses such as Madhuri Dixit...Most Indians (especially Hindus) hate M F Hussain with a vengeance precisely because of his actions...

It is only a few so-called pseudo intellectuals, broad-minded individuals & wannabe artists who support M F Hussain and say that there is nothing wrong with what he has done!!! If you ask most Indians about their opinion, they will condemn this lecherous old man in the strongest terms possible...

For a more detailed understanding of M F Hussain's anti-hindu & anti-India paintings visit this website - http://www.hindujagruti.org/activities/c…

ClaireB, from your name, I think you are a Christian...I wonder if you would have been so generous in your outlook, if M F Hussain had painted Mother Mary & Jesus Christ in nude, sexual positions !!!

When movies like "The last temptation of Christ", "The Davinci Code" etc were made (which only hinted at Jesus Christ as a normal human marrying, indulging in sex & having a family), millions of Christians rose in protest all over the world...

Hinduism is one of the most peaceful & tolerant religion in the world, but that does not mean that anybody can deliberately abuse it...

Let me ask you a question - Just because you have the freedom to express yourself, does that mean that you hurl abuses at your mother, father or neighbours???

India is a secular country in that the Indian Government never asked M F Hussain to leave the country & go into hiding...M F Hussain voluntarily left India as he was fed up of the lawsuits filed against him by several organisations & Individuals...he left as he did not have faith in the legal system of India & because he was unwilling to face the music...

Now that M F Hussain is a bona fide citizen of Qatar, will he dare to paint Islamic Prophets in the nude??? It is extremely unlikely that he will do so, but still assuming that he does - the best that will happen to him is that the Government of Qatar will kick him out of their country and no Islamic Nation will accept him...the worst thing that will happen to him is that immediately a Fatwa will be issued against him and he will be kidnapped, tortured, mutilated & his torn up body fed to the dogs...

Still India has stated that if he wishes to come back, he will be readily accepted by the Government of India...

What better example do you need that India is a truely secular country, where even scum like M F Hussain are tolerated & welcomed ???

Answer :
Yes we do very much have freedom of expression in our country than many of the developed nations.
Did you forget that the Pope had banned the screening of the movie Da Vinci Code and some Christian organisations had taken a strong objection to the screening of this movie as it showed the Roman Church as a villain and that Jesus Christ was a happily married man having a daughter named Sara.
If you believe in Freedom of expression you must not get scared to **** and leave your country. Please tell me would you have thought M.F.Hussain as gifted had he painted Mary in nude. Why did he not paint the rich widow who married Mohammad Paigambar who was 15 years younger than her in nude. I am sure people of other faith would not have objected to such gifted artists expression of art as it would have depicted a realistic picture of a person from his Ăłwn religion without hurting the sentiments of people of other religion. Or did he think that this lady was never nude even in private or bathing or with Mohammad Paigambar?

The Kashmiri Hindu pandits had to flee their home state Kashmir even after India became independent because the Muslims in that state with open support of Pakistan was butchering them or converting them to Islam usurping their property and the Indian Government always being soft on Muslims took no steps to protect the Kashmiri Pandits. But the funny thing is you never thought of asking question on the genocide of the Kashmiri Hindu pandits and their families in Kashmir. Till date Kashmiri Pandits have not returned to the valley.

When SRK makes a statement favouring Pakistani players why only MNS should oppose, though their means of expressing their opposition are not agreeable to all Indians, are there no patriots in India who could oppose his unwarranted love for Pakistanis in the backdrop of 26/11. Why should he favour any thing that is Pakistani as the Indian government is telling and the media is telling that Pakistan is sponsoring terrorism in India and the recent fresh instances of 26/11 are there how can you have so much love for a Rogue Nation's players who have killed lot of innocent people.

Had Pakistani terrorists killed any of your kith and kin would you still have played cricket with them?

India is really a secure secular country that is why many Pakistanis come to India to make a decent living as it is not possible in their country as their country is Pak only in its name.

What military retrictions should have been placed on Germany after World war 1 AND WHY (details below)?

my class is simulating the Treaty of Versailles conference and i am representing Serbia

i have to create a small 5 minute speech with the follwing criteria:

1. SHOULD THE FORMER CENTRAL POWERS (germany and Austria Hungary) BE ALLOWED ANY MILITARY CAPABILITY?
-Is Germany allowed any “military capability”? Define specifically
-What happens to demobilized soldiers?
-Treatment of Austria, Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria?

2. SHOULD ALL NATIONS HAVE FREEDOM OF THE SEAS? (The right to go anywhere in peace or war?)
-International zone?
-Canals? Kiel, Panama, Suez…
-Straits? Bosporous, Skagerrat…
-International rivers? Danube, Elbe, St. Lawrence…
-Does any nation “patrol” the seas?

3. SHOULD THERE BE WORLD WIDE DISARMAMENT? (No standing armies, destruction of all offensive weapons, no weapons of war to be further produced).

-Do the same restrictions apply to: Germany only; other Central Powers; ALL powers?

Answer :
Is this a simulation of the 1919 Paris Peace Conference? It was certainly not all dispassionate objective logic and fairness involved; Conversely, the backbone and muscle of that conference actually was ego, personalities, politics of numbers of population, machinations of biased allied nation's media, blackout of representation by Germany in the conference, blackout of information and events happening contra-Germany in the conference, and psychology of scapegoating everything on Germany mixed with ragefull revenge that made the Treaty of Versailles.

If your "simulation" is an alternative debate as to alternative outcomes that could have and should have been, then obviously, there should have been worldwide restrictions to prevent world war instead of flirting with setting up a new world war backlash.

Oasis of the Seas or Freedom of the Seas?

My family and I are planning a cruise for december 2010. There are two cruise ships and itineraries that we are choosing betwenn.
Oasis of the Seas
23 Ft. Lauderdale
24 At Sea
25 Labadee
26 Falmouth
27 At Sea
28 Cozumel
29 At Sea
30 Ft. Lauderdale
Freedom of the Seas
26 Port Canaveral
27 At Sea
28 Labadee
29 Falmouth
30 Georgetown
31 Cozumel
1 At Sea
2 Port Canaveral
We originally wanted to go on a new years cruise but oasis is so cool. Should we go on oasis but not have that really cool experience of new years on a cruise, or is freedom close enough to as cool as the oasis that it wouldn't matter? What are your thoughts? Has anyone been on a new years cruise with freedom? Or is christmas on a cruise cool too?

Answer :
It mostly depends on how big you want the ship to be. There is tons to do on both ships for all age groups, so that won't be a problem. Naturally, the Oasis has more, like the zip line, the diving show, and a carousel. As for the Christmas and new year's cruises, they are both really fun. The christmas cruise can be great but you will probably run into homesick crew, as they don't have the chance to see their family and its hard to call them (been there, done that). The new year's one is great, they will have a count down on the royal promenade and its a great party. Either way, both ships are amazing and you will have fun!!!

Answer :
ive been on both cruises but the oasis really stuck out to me. As a matter of fact i am going on the oasis once again in April. Cozumel is a great place to check out and the food is absolutely delicious.especially on the oasis the board walk and central park is a really nice place to go for a walk especially at night

hope this helps

Answer :
Between these two, I would have to go with Oasis. There is so much buzz right now about this ship. It's the largest in the world and has a really unique design. With the ports being so similar, I'd probably take this opportunity to experience Oasis.

Is the UK a nation built on theft from other nations?

as you well know the UK is nation quickly going downhill. with spiralling debt in relation to its GDP, loss of its places in the world stage, are its chickens coming home to roost? Britain was a country that only became wealthy from from stealing from its colonies, even when the vile empire was collapsing, thank God, they did all they could to hold on to lands that didint belong to them .( my grandfather was arrested and tortured by the british in the 60s. his crime, asking for equality and freedom from the oppression from the brits) when the empire was over, they were almost bankrupt. they were saved by income from the north sea oil and gas. which 90% belongs to Scotland. now that the scots want independece, the brits will go broke and now are want to steal oil from Las malvinas, which they claim is theres even if its 3,000 miles away and on Argentinas continental shelf. I as an american am glad we are distancing ourselves. please dont mention the wars. we both went in to fight terror and with shared interests. the brits didnt go in as a vassal state, though some say so.Europe should learn to go back to work on monday mornings like the rest of the world. The days of swindling the colonies and the US is over. UK and France should give up its UN security council seats to Brazil and India so that there is some equitable distribution of power in the world. what do you think?

Answer :
THE TRUTH IS ALWAYS BITTER AND AS WE KNOW, HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THE WINNERS.
THE WINNERS DURING THE COLONIAL ERA WERE MANY OF TODAYS DEVELOPED NATIONS INCLUDING UK AND OTHER EUROPIAN NATIONS.

THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION WAS MOSTLY FINANCED BY THE EXPLOITATION OF COLONIES IN ASIA.

READ: http://ashishthakare.blogspot.com/2005/1…
FOR BRITISH CONTRIBUTIONS IN INDIA.

THE QUESTION SHOULD BE: WHY DID THE BRITISH GO TO INDIA?

TO HELP THE POOR INDIANS?
OR
TO MAKE PROFIT?

EDUCATION, RAILWAYS ETC WERE BYPRODUCTS AND NOT INTENDED TO HELP INDIA...

EDUCATION: TO RAISE A ENGLISH SPEAKING INDIAN GENERATION FOR ADMINISTRATIVE WORKS UNDER THE BRITISH OR CIVIL SERVANTS.

RAILWAYS: TO TRANSPORT GOOD EFFECTIVELY OUT OF INDIA.

TO CALL THEM "POSITIVE EFFECTS" IS BASELESS.

BEFORE THE COLONIAL ERA INDIA WAS ONE OF THE MAJOR ECONOMIES IN THE WORLD.
INDIA AND CHINA ACOUNTED FOR ABOUT 50% OF WORLDS GDP!
(REMEMBER: COLUMBUS FOUND AMERICA IN SEARCH OF INDIA! MOTIVATED BY ITS RICHES... HENCE THE NATIVES WERE CALLED INDIANS!)

WHEN THE BRITISH LEFT INDIA POVERTY WAS OVER 50%..NOW ITS DOWN BY ROUND 25%...

FURTHER THE FAMINES DURING BRITISH RULE, MASSACRE OF JALIAN WALA BAGH ETC... (JUST GOGGLE!)
DURING THE COLONIAL ERA OVER 40 MILLION INDIANS LOST THEIR LIVES... AS MANY AS DURING WW2...

THE CRIMES OF COLONIAL EXPLOITATION IS A DARK TRUTH IN HISTROY THAT WE SHOULD ACCEPT AND NOT IGNORE OR DENY.

INDIA WOULDNT NEED ALL THOSE "AID" FROM ENGLAND OR OTHER NATIONS IF THE BRITISH WERE TO GIVE BACK THE RICHES THE STOLE IN INDIA DURING THE COLONIAL ERA... MAYBE START WITH THE KOHI-NOOR DIAMOND ON THE QUEENS CROWN!?!

IN CHINA THEY ALMOST MADE THE NATION OPIUM ADDICTED!
IN AFRICA THEY TOOK NATIVES AS SLAVES TO BRAZIL ETC!

WHAT SORT OF HELP OR DEVELOPMENT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

Answer :
Can you name any country ,ethnic group ,tribe or social group that didn't exploit others at some time in their history : that didn't fight and kill for land and other resources?
You say you are an American ( with Scottish or Irish ancestry by the sounds of it ) --how on earth can you have such a blind spot about the history of the USA?

Answer :
The British Empire was built to provide a source of raw materials and labour and a captive market for manufactured goods. The peoples were subjects and expected to obey the British Governors. So yes, Britain did get wealthy on the spoils of Empire.

Answer :
Basically yes.

Some institutions we have today were built on a "dark" history, for example Barclay's our highly respected High St Bank owes its existence to slavery, others have similar skeletons in the cupboard.

~~~~edit~~~America was a colony too and is now rich, the poverty of the Indian subcontinent is the fault of Indian subcontinentals, their corruption and lack of science and invention. That is why they flood into the UK
Answer :
Iv no idea which country you come from, you are too scared to say, Ill just say this to you and anyone else who denigrates the uk for its past empire. THE ENGLISH RULED the world! - never before in the history of the human race has there been such a successful country. You have the audacity to cite things which have nothing to do with whatever tin pot country you come from. I suggest that you look to your country and see what it can to give to the world, its a fact that if anything at all it wouldn't amount to 1,000,000,000,000 of what the British have given . I think you are just a jealous no mark with no national identity and no way of ever being part or belonging to anything worth more than 50cents..
Answer :
The Industrial Revolution was paid for by the rape of India!
Advanced capitalist nations need to constantly expand their markets in order for their economy's to continue to grow. This is as true now as it was 200 years ago.
Britain is no longer a superpower because of the loss of their empire. We are no longer able to dominate other country's in the same way as we used to. That is why we latched onto the so called 'War on Terror' that was led by the USA n the hope of being thrown a few crumbs by the US.
USA, Russia and China are the big players at the moment and it looks like China will be the biggest economy in the world soon.
The Falklands/Malvinas have reserves of oil that are difficult to access, given the level of technology that exists at the moment, but the UK sees t as a long term investment. If there was no oil there we wouldn't be interested...much like Iraq and other areas in the Middle East.
I wouldn't be so smug mate. The USA, since WWII, have embarked upon their own imperialist adventures. It is a consequence of this, along wth their slavish support of Israel, that caused 9/11 and other terrorist attacks. Their foreign policy's have resulted in some of the worst examples `of death and destruction the world has seen, and their policy of immiseration in non-compliant nations is truly appalling!
Answer :
Why do you single out Britain every Nation in the world from Mesopotamia to the present is built on conquest bar none , Even neutral Sweden has a bloody history of conquest and was built on other nations wealth , There are not innocents here to judge others look at any nation in the world and you will find they plundered somebody in their history, Britain was just far better at it than all the others, all motives to judge the British are based on jealousy that they did not have the balls and courage to conquer as much. To conquer half the world from a Island 500 miles by a hundred is something else and that was the British, three quarters of the world speaks English and every true English man should hold his head up in pride for with conquest we bought education and civilisation built vast monuments and roads systems railroads trade even to Timbuktu, And America has not reason for pride having destroyed the native American Indians for its own pure greed breaking every treaty it signed , its word it not worth the paper is was written on , so do not try to shame Britain it never in its history went back on its word.
Answer :
I think that you are an ill informed, clearly poorly educated moron.
Any link to accurate historical reporting has been washed away with a stream of incorrect supposition and based upon the usual populace drivel that passes for knowledge in the US.
As for getting back to work, as a member of the most clinically obese nation in the world, I suggest you move out of the glass house before you throw any more stones.
Brit baiting is the preserve of rayhere, another dipshit from over the pond.
Answer :
The US is built on the blood and sweat of African slaves and land stolen from the native Indians.
Justify that one.
Am not interested in your pathetic anti-UK rant. I have no idea why your "grandfather was arrested and tortured" but it wouldn't simply be because he was "asking" for equality and freedom". If his method of "asking" involved bombs or killing people (IRA by any chance???) he deserved what he got.
The Falklands have always belonged to the UK no debate at all. The Argentines only want them now because of the oil. Well last time they tried to (brutally) invade they got their arses handed to then. They will get the same again.
"UK and France should give up its UN security council seats to Brazil and India so that there is some equitable distribution of power in the world. what do you think?"
Haha! Umm . . . no. We don't "give up" our power. Weaker countries have to WORK to get recognition not expect strong countries to hand it to them. Why are you failures always desperate for a handout?
Weak countries get their arses kicked. As do weak people. Fact of life.
If you are a "Plastic Paddy" (ie ignorant American with an Irish grandparent) you should know that 99% of REAL Irish people consider you to be utterly ridiculous and want nothing to do with you.
By the way, dear, your question has been reported for being nothing more than a bigotted racist rant (and a poorly informed, badly written one at that). Have a nice day now won't you?
Which of the ideas set forth in the Fourteen Points was adopted in the Treaty of Versailles?
(A) Free trade
(B) Freedom of the seas
(C) Reduction of Armaments
(D) Return of a democratic Russia
(E) League of Nations
Best answer full stars
Answer :
B. The overall principle that guided Wilson's Fourteen Points was the idea that war was bad and should be avoided. The main ways to avoid it, in Wilson's opinion, were:
Principle of self-determination. Ethnic groups should rule themselves, not be ruled by other ethnic groups.
Freedom of the seas. Countries should be able to trade freely with one another, even in time of war.
Open diplomacy. No secret treaties.
Collective security -- through the League of Nations. If one country attacks another, all countries should gang up on the attacking country.
This last is why the US didn't ratify. We didn't want to be dragged into war if, say, Italy attacked Austria (get in wars we don't care about).
Can anybody help me answer this question please? It's school related.?
This is the question:
American foreign policy leading up to involvement in the First World War was greatly influenced by our definitions of the rights of neutrals and our assertions of “freedom of the seas.” American foreign policy leading up to involvement in the First World War was greatly influenced by our definitions of the rights of neutrals and our assertions of “freedom of the seas.” At what point do you feel that Germany was justified in considering the United States an enemy and acting on that perception accordingly?
This supposed to be an essay, but i'm stuck!! I have no idea what to put or how to begin!! Any ideas????? please help me!! :)
Answer :
this is the main question:
"At what point do you feel that Germany was justified in considering the United States an enemy and acting on that perception accordingly?"
do you understand that? It's basically asking you to input your thoughts about Germany losing to the Americans in the World War. If I recall correctly, the Americans joined the "good side" to defeat the Nazis and the invading Japanese
Start brainstorming.
-2 Teams, what are they?
-Why did the US join the British side?
-End Results: freedom, destruction and great depressiion in Germany after the war, etc.
If u had to pick between freedom or love?
which would u pick?
like ur gf or watever is like, "if u luv me, u hav to do wat i say." u hav to let her control u, she has u on a leash she dominates the relationship, but for the sake of example u do luv her.
now u could leave and be totally free, like the sea itself impossible to be obtained or controlled by anyone. but u'll be alone.
i pick freedom. everytime.
Answer :
If i love them enough yes i would choose Love over Freedom(odd coming from me).Thats what i would do out of love, it's a sacrifice but also a test, "2 do what ever he saids"?, okay for love i will, but if he allows me to torture myself toss all my chances of happiness take all my freedom, and all the things that comes with, and notices all this pain I'm going threw for him and just allows me 2 hurt myself for his own sick satifaction.Then he doesn't love me, I'm kickin his A** to the CURVE! NO MAN that really loves a woman would acknowledge all this pain the woman he loves is going threw for him and just continue 2 let her suffer for himself, and no woman in their right mind should allow this, And i'm in my right mind, in that case i would pick freedom.
Y the thumbs down ? O.o
Answer :
Sadly, I would choose freedom at the expense of love. But it's really close because the prospect of a true, unconditional love is so appealing (to my Pisces venus :p).
Even if I really love them, I couldn't be with someone so controlling. We'd just end up resenting each other because I'd do everything in my power to defy them and prove that I'm the only one in control of me. It's like my personality screams "FIGHT IT!!" when confronted with options like that. :p
Answer :
It has to be freedom then. I can't loose my identity to someone else. When love is the way its suppose to be, when its fresh and filled with magic, mystery, excitement, when its passionate and honest, then love is a new life, it feels like a rebirth to me- there's nothing like it. I'm a new woman. But the relationship you described to me sounds like death, like a spiritual death. I don't want any part of someone who stifles who I am.
Virgo sun, Cancer moon, Pisces rising
Answer :
Freedom. I've been alone all of my life and I cannot stand seeing people not doing what they wanted to do because of love/partner. Compromise is so unappealing. I can only do SO MUCH for someone before I get exhausted and want things MY WAY! So freedom by choice or not by choice, is still freedom and not being tied down.
Answer :
"If you love me you have to do what I say."
That is Not love at all. That's pure insecurity and a need for control. Whoever says that needs to work on themself.
I choose freedom, I'm not gonna be some whipped *****.
Answer :
I could barely read the demands in your example because I was already thinking "I am so out of here" LOL!!!!
I couldn't love anyone who was like that, so yeah, freedom for sure!!!
I don't want to be alone though :(
Me: Sadge w a Leo Moon
Answer :
Honestly I cannot let anyone control me in a relationship so I would definitely pick Freedom. I want love more than anything but if I'm not happy I'd rather be alone, and have my freedom.
